Astronomy tour

Includes a talk on basic astronomy, which is supported by specialized software, and guided observation from our observatory using a state-of-the-art electronic telescope.

Reiki Session

Just 30 minutes from La Serena, you begin to immerse yourself in this fascinating valley, which receives you with its unique energy. Those towns that stand out are El Molle and Vicuña, with their wide range of tourist attractions.

Montegrande

This small town is located 30 kilometres from Vicuña and belongs to the district of Palihuano. Here you will find the ancestry of the famous writer Gabriela Mistral, where she was born and raised. In Montegrande you can get to know its architecture, beautiful church and find out more about the life and works of the Chilean autor.

Pisco Elqui

The main attraction is a centre dedicated to the production of Pisco. For that reason, it is possible to see young vineyards dedicated to this improtant industry. The town, originally named La Greda and subsequently, La Unión, is nestled on a hill and possesses typical adobe architechture and unique handicrafts. The winding, sloped streets of Pisco Elqui bear witness to beautiful scenery, in addition to the square and the Solar de Pisco 3R, which can be accessed via guided tours.

The artisan town of Horcón

Horcón is a small, fasinating town, and is located 9 km from Pisco Elqui on the road to Alcohuaz. Amongst the hills, you can see small houses and tourist accomodation surrounded by wild vegetation, nourished by the river year-round. You can also find the artisan town of Horcón, a fair which sells local products and is as much a meeting place as it is a place carry out different activities. There you can find a place for picnics, as well as a restaurant. In the quaint little stores, you can find a variety of products, such as paintings, woolen handicrafts, wood, chocolates etc. You can’t miss the opportunity to get to know this charming little town in the Elqui Valley.

Vicuña

Vicuña is a city and district in the province of Elqui, part of the Coquimbo región. The city is known as the capital of the Elqui Valley and Chilean Pisco, as well as being the birthplace of the Chilean Poet Gabriela Mistral, Nobel Prize winner for literature. Here, she also received her first years of schooling.

Among its principal attractions, as well as its noble, aging constructions from the beginning of the 1900s, is the square of the ancient trees, from which you can appreciate the sculptures in homage to Mistral, the Temple of the Immaculate Conception, the Bauer tower and the different themed museums. It’s also possible to visit the astronomic observatory Mamalluca, used by the public and for scientific purposes.

The Puclaro Reservoir

The Puclaro reservoir is a water reservoir located in the district of Vicuña, 50km east of the city of La Serena. Its main function is to regulate the waters flowing from the River Elqui for times of drought. It has a capactity of 200 million metres cubed.

To visit, you should request a pass from the control barrier on the Wall. At this point, you can also find the monument, “Images of Wind Energy”, which acts as a type of harp, making the most of the winds and puncturing the air with a variety of sounds.

The reservoir is known as one of the best places to practise both kitesurfing and windsurfing and its lookouts provide a panoramic view of Elqui Valley. You can get a different perspective by entering from the town of Nueva Gualliguaica.
